I am a big fan of Top Flr and have eaten there 3 times. It is not the kind of place where the servers will bend over backwards for you.....get over it. It is the kind of place where they will get you what you need and allow you to enjoy your dinner. Last time there I had the most incredible duck pasta....never thought I would write that but man was it good!
Sadly though I will never go back. My girlfriend noticed on her credit card bill that we were overcharged $5. Simple enough mistake so we called and were told that it would be refunded. 2 weeks go by and nothing. We called back and told again that it would be handled. Nothing. In all, it took FIVE phone calls over 7 weeks to get the $5 dollars credited to our card. Now $5 isn't going to make or break anyone but in the restaurant game this is a crime. I have worked with servers in the past that will tack on 2-5 dollars on all credit card bills when they enter them in the computer after you have left the building. For most people, it will look "close enough" as they look at their statement weeks later and will let it pass if they notice at all. Well if a server does this 10 times a night, they can make an extra $50. (keep your receipts people!)
The initial problem wasn't something Top Flr did, but their failure to remedy the situation was terrible. We called back 5 times!!! We gave Top Flr every opportunity to refund the money even talking to the manager twice.
Like I said, I enjoyed the food and will miss the pasta but I am a man of principle....and it wouldn't matter if I was overcharged 50 cents.....I work very hard for my money and will not support an establishment that doesn't value me.
