I love this movie!!!!In fact I watched it at least 5 times. After watching the movie I began to research it and to know that the stories that my grandparents actually told were true overwhelmed me. Tichina was amazing, she drew me into the movie and made me feel every emotion that she felt and I cried crocodile tears. All of the actors and actresses were great. To know this in those days a African American Woman was strong willed and didn't let them break her down. Phanmanal Woman. But while researching I also ran across some things that were not in the movie, Lena was actually denied clemency and in 2005, she was granted a pardon by the State of Georgia. They stated that her sentence was,"a grievous error". She could have been charged with voluntary manslaughter. The racism still exist, I chose this movie to write a essay on and guess what? My professor doesn't approve. LOL What you see is what you get. I draw strength from this movie as all of us should.
