This is primarily in response to the previous post.
First I'll state that I do not own a bar and I too live in an area where I get a lot of noise from street traffic on the weekends and a ton of traffic around my neighborhood. It can be annoying to say the least.
That being said, if the residents of the area have a problem with the location of Loca Luna then the area should have been rezoned so that a bar could not be located there. As it is Local Luna is being run where the City has designated that they are allowed to do so. If people are making obscene amounts of noise then APD should be out there writing tickets to those people, not targeting a legitimate business owner for running his business. As for the increased traffic, I think you should stop whining.
Yes, ideally most or all nightlife locations would be located somewhere far away from residential neighborhoods (like the old Buckhead location?), but the city of Atlanta seems intent on making it difficult for these businesses to operate at every turn, effectively eliminating much of the Atlanta nightlife that use to be here.
Atlanta city government may not approve, but young people want to go out at night and they want to drink, and yes they want to be loud. If you want to have a young vibrant city then you have to give these people somewhere to go. City ordinances like the one referenced here are ridiculous. No one should have to deal with that kind of BS.
