I cannot wait to take MARTA home with this in my headphones. Gonna be a trip indeed.
Bringing it full-circle back to Atlanta, I first heard about the Willie Lynch phenomenon (I'm trying to be selective with my language to avoid offending anyone) on Obelisk Movements
I think this was more of a commentary on the winners name, Willie Lynch. I agree, the whole thing is misguided, but maybe you missed what the author was going for? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Lynch
Either way, it's a terrible tweet.
Man, I've had some time to think as I am currently stuck on the bus behind a wreck at N. Hairston and Memorial up here near the Stone Moutains. I guess I was being a bit of a crotchety bus rider when I posted above. I'm sorry Mr. Austin Ray. I was entertained by your article and I shouldn't have posted a mean comment. I would probably be in a better mood if I was getting off for beer. Anybody wanna take the 121 westbound pub crawl? We can go to the Applebee's, a Kroger parking lot, and the Atrium. The crawl ends at the Dekalb County lock-up, so that's convenient.
edit: Virginia-Highland. My bad.
MARTA isn't going to improve if the city isn't going to use it, there's a bit of a give-and-take. I take 2 buses and a train from Virginia-Highlands to Stone Mountain every day for work. It takes an hour and a half, most days. I see the occasional drinker at a stop or on the bus, and I often see folks hop off to visit Pin-Ups in Decatur. But generally I see people headed to and from work or school, just like most Atlantans are doing in their single-occupancy vehicles. I'm glad you had fun on your big day out, but instead of using MARTA for gimmicks and drunken hijinks (as I'm sure a guy who can afford 7 bar tabs in one day can afford a few cabs), why not encourage readers to use it for their daily commute?
