My group of girlfriends (all in our 30's, successful professionals, most of us mothers or pregnant) do a dinner club every month. We like to pick a new place we haven't been to, and we love to support local restaurants. I live in the neighborhood and was excited to try Paul Luna's new place.
I was floored when I got a phone call from them after I had made reservations and was told that they don't like to have large, rowdy groups like ours in their establishment and we should find somewhere else to go. Our reservation was for 11 people, which is a somewhat large party but not IMO prohibitively so. I have no idea where they got "rowdy" from. I explained who we are and that we simply were a group of women who like to try and support new establishments. I was told that we would be much too disruptive and it just wouldn't work.
Wow. Thanks for nothing. I'll be sure to not give your business my money or my kudos anytime in the future. Great way to do business.
