Yes, I love Hector's food but their hours definitely left something to be desired, and for most of us the Highlands location made it more of a destination than someplace you walk by on foot...
Also congrats to George!
Hopefully they'll franchise the attitude of the folks at the Chesire Bridge location, which is fantastic.
Hopefully they will not franchise the inability to get a table that isn't mobbed by screaming kids at the Howell Mill location.
Thank you for featuring our friends Cece and Jamila! Patchwork City Farms rocks and their fruits and veggies rule!!!
I have to thoroughly disagree with "unjustly siphoned." Any business Bagel Palace loses is their own fault.
I picked up breakfast there today because of stre's comment above... I figured why the heck not, they deserve a shot. I was pretty disappointed. "Mom and pop" shouldn't mean messy and unappetizing.
It took them 15 minutes (without a line) to get me out the door when my food was already bagged and sitting behind the counter when I got in... even though there were at least 10-12 employees all floating around. They managed to mess up 2 parts of my 3 part order (I got hash browns instead of grits, and a toasted plain bagel instead of an untoasted cheddar bagel), and the lox was kind of .... off. And the bagel... wasn't as good as the ones I've had at Goldberg's. I'm all for mom-and-pops, but you have to compete. You have to expect you'll turn some people away if you run a business that is physically unappetizing and can't serve you the food you ask for.
I was a Ru San's fan for ages, although the last time I was there both the portion sizes and the quality of the fish had declined severely. I had a hard time getting myself to swallow some of it.
Has it improved since a couple of years ago??
There is a problem, but SOPA and PIPA were not a solution. They were throwing out the baby with the bathwater as they say. Or using a thermonuclear attack to exterminate roaches in your house.
I'm not sure if you've ever been exposed to the headaches that bogus DMCA requests can cause, but that's nothing compared to what could happen based on bogus acussations if SOPA and PIPA were implemented.
