Donovan, thinly veiled resentment or racism? Your comments weren't veiled at all. Are "yuppies" supposed to stay out of the city? Or just the areas of the city you deem they are allowed?
P.S. I am black, but tired of my own race judging me for putting myself through college and buying a house in SW Atlanta. I appreciate my young professional neighbors of all colors that have bought houses in my neighborhood and are trying to make it a better place to live. They help out the kids and seniors more than many of the "soon to be displaced" residents. Stop hatin'.
As far as this article, fairly old news. Atlanta has always been behind the 8ball in regards to gangs. They always ignore it until they have to confront it. Yes, the Standard Bartender was white working in a gentrified neighborhood, but what about Vernon Forrest?
