Re: “Free jazz drought coming to Atlanta?

The only answer I have reveals itself each time I perform or listen to others perform this music. For an endeavor that's so tricky to explain, it makes great sense while it's happening. And that's maybe it...there's no runup, there's no followup, little cultural reinforcement, but just Now. We're a future-tilting society, which might explain things a little? I could be off the mark about that. And I don't know why Atlanta audiences tend to be small. I love playing Eyedrum, and the audiences I've encountered, large or small, have been very enthusiastic. It's a great resource for the city, and I hope it continues to thrive.
