Carnivores should be famous. And Judi Chicago.

Re: “Who's now in Atlanta music

Chad,

Petty? Maybe. But it's true. Sorry to sound rash. I dislike a lot of the acts CL praises. I think you go way out of your way to make a lot of groups appear more important than they actually are. Maybe it's because that's all you have to work with. And I don't believe I did comment last year. Maybe I should have.

I like The Pinx. I like Gentleman Jesse. I like Judi Chicago. I do like a lot of other groups you may mention sometimes as well. It's usually the ones you barely mention that I generally like the most. So sorry for misdirecting my dissatisfaction upon the bands. Because what it really is is that I don't like Creative Loafing's music section, even though I still read it from time to time. I'm always trying to like CL Music, but it's always disappointing. I like to keep up with local music and you guys do cover a good portion of it, so calling you irrelevant isn't entirely true. But you do focus way too heavily on a handful of groups. All it looks like you're doing here in this article is cherry picking names from the scene. CL doesn't seem to offer any critical merit itself when it comes to local music. You just seem to try and align yourself with what's hip. Which is fine. But don't ask for critical merit when the magazine itself doesn't seem to know what it is when it comes to the music section. All I mostly see is praise and worship. I would like to see a broader spotlight on the Atlanta music scene and the balls to actually say something constructive and even critical about Creative Loafing's favorite darlings. That's all.

Thanks!
Dave

Re: “Young Antiques get f'ed up in public

One of the best bands in Atlanta. Thank you for not being psychedelic. Way too overlooked by this stupid rag that I always read, for some reason.
