Having lived in Cabbagetown since 1991, this article brought back a lot of memories. I still listen to Kelly Hogan's music, including the Jody Grind. What incredible talent was all around us!
I am a little curious about the comment in the article by J.T. that the area on Carroll St is still "a little raw". Really? Is the gentrification not complete? I can walk well after dark to a coffee shop and several restaurants, and feel fairly safe. What is raw about that? Honestly, it's kind of overly-gentrified now. And as I said, I've lived there almost 20 years, and before that I lived in a boarding house in Grant Park with no locks on the doors. I know raw.
