@Sauve / @zedsmith / etc.: do you people not actually *read*? Lagunitas quite clearly stated in his original tweets that he'd "hadda ask other brewers to stop using stuff we felt was our own, I understand how it feels." He took issue - fairly enough, I think - with the first instinct being to leap to legal action rather than simply picking up the phone or otherwise communicating directly with him. Sheesh.
As a part-time resident of Kirkwood, and a part-time resident of Roswell, I just have to say: hell yes. Ale Yeah, you know I'll keep you in business all on my own!
Fair enough - I was being a bit of an ass. Just an immediate, off-the-cuff reaction to CL's losing Besha, etc. Of course, CL quietly updated the error in review without comment, making me look worse, but ah well...
It's not exactly encouraging that CL's new food writer begins a review with a basic grammatical error in the very second sentence...
The veggie dog is really excellent - not at all mushy -- but do be aware that they cook it right there with all of the other dogs, same implements, etc., and it's not unlikely that it'll roll up against a dead meat hot dog.
For whatever it's worth, Rathbun's also has absolutely the best veggie plate anywhere in Atlanta. We probably eat at Rathbun's five or six times a year, and are never disappointed--speaking as vegetarians who would prefer not to just eat cheese, health food or crap. The service is generally fantastic, too, with the notable exception of one guy one night who basically refused to serve our dining guest what she'd ordered and insisted--truly, rudely, insisted--that she have the "much better" duck dish, which she didn't really want and really didn't enjoy. By-and-large, though, Rathbun's is still our favourite restaurant in town.
