Check out this great blog piece about road and transit funding: http://martarocks.com/2012/06/06/survey-10…
The main point we're missing here is that the Gainesville Tea Party put this out. In case anyone forgot, Hall County isn't in the metro regional roundtable. None of their money will go to MARTA. Not One Cent.
XI, I think you missed how this process went down. Each jurisdiction put in what they wanted to see, Gwinnett put in the money for a EIS/AA on a rail line, most likely light rail, up I 85. Dekalb officials put all their eggs in the Clifton Corridor and North Dekalb baskets; that's who south Dekalb should be miffed at.
Do I think this will hurt the likelihood of the TIA passing? Nope. The population that listens to the NAACP is a population that's not likely to vote. Will MAVEN address it? I highly doubt it. I think they should, but I can't see them making the effort. That's not their target demographic.
Yea, I can't see why we give a damn that he went to the circus. If Clayton had transit, the police force wouldn't have to escort him. I wonder if they'll drive around Wole, too? Can we cover real news, please?
Hey CL! Did y'all notice that the chef is reading Creative Loafing?
The Beltine Network was the grassroots campaign that started the Beltline and was later pushed aside by the Beltline INC.
