Re: “A plea for the return of the maitre d'

Andres Loaiza is not a maitre d'. He is the General Manager of a wonderful establishment that because of its small size, gives him the opportunity to focus his attention to multiple areas of the restaurant.

@smitty: the funny thing is that a lot of those Catholics were most likely Jewish...

Re: “Tex-Mex nightmare in town

The largest bullfighting ring in the world is in Mexico City. Nonetheless, anyone making such a reference clearly does not understand the culture of Mexico. The "I am guessing you are Catholic, yes?” comment is a clear stereotype based on the writer's assumptions of the spanish speaking world.

Re: “Tex-Mex nightmare in town

"Mexican components", droping the f bomb, "a Mexican pastry (I can never remember the names of this sort of stuff)..."
Some of those comments make you sound like a condescending dbag racist.
And by the way, the bullfighting reference would be more appropriate in a Spanish restaurant, as in from the country of Spain.

Re: “Mexico City Gourmet closing

@ FOODIE CHICK: if by quality you mean the freshest ingredients from the back of a Sysco truck, then you are right.
