The CoLab seems to have a lot of great people behind it. I keep meaning to go to an event there, but life keeps getting in the way (well that, and the website doesn't seem to list all of the events going on there). Soon though!
Anyway, I'm sure that CoLab will be able to work out the differences with the neighbors and come to some compromise. Better soundproofing, further reduction in volume levels, whatever. It is disturbing that this officer seems to have something out against the space, though. The fact that the police and fire chief were going around looking for violations seems pretty sketchy to me. Blocked/impeded exit, fine. But an Exit sign light being out? Really, they had to make a big deal out of that?
Re: the drama, any time you have a group of people there will be some bad apples. Sad fact of life, but I'm sure if anything illegal was done that the people in charge will take care of it.
