Re: “Poll: Deal enjoys 11 point lead over Barnes, GOP could control all statewide posts until end of time

That is such a load of crap when you look at the profits and shareholder payouts. Fifty families could live off what one CEO makes in six months. How many times do we hear that 90% of the wealth is owned by less than 10% of the people? Please. The GOP doesn't want anything to be level. They want to keep what they have and damn the rest of us.

And by the way, there are plenty of ways around paying taxes. Bank your money overseas (corporations) or, if you're wealthy, take advantage of the many loopholes and tax cuts provided by the GOP.

"Earned wages" may be the key phrase. How many jobs are going overseas so that the corporations can pay cheap labor and put more money in their pockets? If that doesn't bother you, fine. It bothers me alot. And if I want to get screwed, I can find a vacation spot right here, thanks.

Re: “Victim of hate

Hate crimes affect entire populations, not just the victims and their immediate families. If a gay man is attacked for being gay, all gay men feel vulnerable, just as a racially-motivated crime engenders fear in all members of the targeted group. Hate crimes are attacks on equality and civil rights.

Amen, "Rick from Stone Mountain"! And I'm mystified by those who are against being "robbed by the government" but are totally okay with being robbed by the wealthy establishment. To wit, corporations have "recovered" from the recession, but they are not going to rehire the unemployed or create any new jobs because they're not "confident" of future economic stability. No, what they're really doing is skimming the cream off the top for their shareholders. But you folks go ahead and vote Republican. One day you'll realize what's really trickling down on you.
