Could the food trucks just tweet/post on FB their to-be location? This reminds me of a storyline on Southland where the hot, in-the-moment foodtruck would tweet its location and prospective customers only had 1-2 hours to get food before the truck moved on. If the food truck owners recieve their bid by Wednesday, I can see them tweeting that they will be at Atl Station on Friday, which should provide enough time. Maybe not every customer would get notice, but I can see enough tech savvy having twitter/FB accounts to then get the word out.
For a new dSLR, I recommend a Pentax K-x. With a kit lens, it should cost about $500, give or take (online, not local). You can also find a 2 lens kit that includes a zoom lens for about $800, give or take. The camera is highly rated at dpreview.com, and is comparable to similarly priced Nikons and Canons.
