Good job on your history! In addition to owning 1000 Oaks Vyd and Winery, I owned and operated the nursery that provided both Gay Dellinger and Tom Slick with their initial grapevines. Both of those folks were truly pioneers. There was little if any research on anything other than muscadines in GA at the time. They both planted a zillion varieties to see what could become GA signature grape. By the way, Habersham's first winemaker, Russell Jones, also came from 1000 Oaks.

We played around with a few grapes from Slick's vineyard before the winery was built as well. I remember a particularly good Sauvignon Blanc.
