Re: “Super Pan says goodbye

The food was really good, but that's what you get with $12 sandwiches and hardly being open.

Re: “Plain doughnuts are posers according to 12-year-old

This kid has no idea what a bagel is. For one, it's not fried. Form does not equal function.

Also, the plain (glazed) doughnut is a measure of craft.

Re: “Is the Scoutmob bump worth battling?

Most of the restaurants on Scoutmob are not really that great, so I'm not surprised they are one and done visits. There have been some exceptions (Escorpion, Harper Station, Spoon, Top Flr)

Re: “Paul Luna reports his five faves for dinner

@FuziOh While it's not my absolute favorite place, Hong Kong Harbor is far from Americanized Chinese food, unless you count beef tripe, sea cucumber, fried pig intestines and chicken's feet as American Chinese staples.

Just because it's on Buford Highway, doesn't mean it's awesome.

Re: “Oral Pleasures

While it is good, the Poodle is actually smothered in Aunt Jemima which is Corn Syrup/High Fructose Corn Syrup. No maple there.

Re: “The $10 art mystery continues

On my way home from work yesterday I decided to swing by the Atlanta Book Exchange to do a little sleuthing. What I found was that they're closing in August. Apparently a kindle shop is opening up there.

I also left with a copy of Henry Miller: The Paris Years by Brassaï (which I felt would be a more interesting read than A Literate Passion) and had in my pocket Envelope 13--a gift for my wife who worked at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur.
