No love for Mary Mac's? Add their turkey and dressing or their sweet potato souffle and make it 101.

Re: “High anxiety

To the growing list of arts organizations providing opportunities for the Atlanta public to engage with contemporary art, I would like to add the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA-GA), Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA), and Art Papers through their magazine and lecture series. In addition, there are numerous monthly art walks throughout the city where arts patrons can engage with contemporary art by both local and visiting artists, not to mention programming provided by the contemporary dance and theater organizations in town. It is clear that there is plenty of contemporary art programming happening in Atlanta, it just isn't always happening at the High and that's OK. The High has made recent efforts in that direction and earnestly adds to the vast mosaic of contemporary art in the city. However, it is difficult to stay informed about what is happening and when in Atlanta, especially regarding contemporary art. I hope this article sets the stage for CL to provide more coverage on what's happening on the contemporary art scene. In addition, I hope the comments on this article help stoke a greater effort among Atlanta's contemporary art organizations to partner together to promote the greater good. For instance, how about a monthly contemporary arts newsletter and web site for the city? Or how about creating an annual contemporary arts festival? With the artists, organizations, audiences, patrons, and resources in Atlanta, significant opportunities are out there. We just need a vision and an organizing force.
