You say "one party rule" like it's a bad thing. It's merely symptomatic of the general disappointment with the performance of the current Democratic administration in Washington. I suspect if you dig a little deeper into the motivations of those voters that changed affiliation you would find this a common theme. I agree with PistolPete: Would you be wringing your hands over 'one party' if that party were Democrats? And what is the solution to one party dominating the Capitol for a term? Do you impose draconian controls on voters to insure a full representation of both parties? I think not. Simply put, the voters have spoken, and as always the rolls of representatives at the Gold Dome will reflect that fact. History shows that the American political system works, and eventually the party in power gets kicked out, or at least has their power diluted.
