Too many memories. I remember we were smoking meth on the back patio and a bartender who shall remain nameless, came out saw us, shrugged and went back inside.
Although I wasn't always kind in my commentary regarding the Impotent Sea Snakes or the Masquerade (especially before they replaced those rickety stairs), I cannot deny the importance or impact of the institution or it's owner on the Atlanta music scene. RIP Dean Riopelle.
Ohh best Lennys Moment.. when Sightings played and cleared out the entire fucking room except for me.
No Dotties/Lennys article is complete without to nod to the late great Steve Miller, the veritable mascot of the old location. Nice article, but really.. Lennys died on Memorial drive . The new location was never really my speed, but I'll never forget the countless nights at the old location seeing early Deerhunter, The band with the lead singer that shot fire out of her vagina, The Selmenaries, Beat Beat Beat..etc. Much love to Shannon, Gina, Haley, Reckless, Lenny and all the old crew.
