Oh, and you don't have a choice BUT to build a new stadium. If the Falcons move out of downtown Atlanta, they Hawks will follow and the Braves will be right behind them. Atlanta will become another Detroit Michigan
When you guys elected Reed, I was the last of my family, which had lived in Atlanta for five generations, to move out of there, after I retired and my daughters left for college, into the relative comfort of Lake City, Georgia; The biggest boondoogles in the history of the City of Atlanta will be the Beltway Project and that rail line from Centennial Park to ML Kings grave. You don't have the tax revenue to keep that city functioning because of the racial politics that still exist.
My favorite thought is knowing that there is no chance in hell that Sheik Obama will win Georgia YEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAW
I support the spirit of this protest, but I wouldn't want to be NEAR some of the groups that I see are endorsing it. Also, look up US HR 347; I haven't heard ANYONE protest this new law, which I consider a direct violation of the First Amendment.
Wait; Living under a bridge is not "a home"; This article is fair, in my opinion. I was born and raised in Atlanta, has watched the homeless problem explode; I have witnessed HUNDREDS of programs for the homeless come and go, but the problem is, MOST of the homeless people WANT to live as they do; Its a matter of choice. I was homeless for a short people a few years back myself; but it was only a temporary condition which I solved with the help of agencies; I know people that receive assistance, and they still choose to be homeless; I can go on and on about his issue, but stop looking at the problem through rose colored glasses
Man, are you people uninformed. TENS OF MILLIONS of dollars have been wasted by various organizations and the City of Atlanta, under the auspices of "revitalizing" the English Avenue Neighborhood; Where all the money went?? Who knows. Check out some of the neighborhood churches over here. I don't know what can be done. I've given up. Maybe this foundation that Prince Charles runs can help. Just thinking about, maybe we do need an outside entity to come in here and make some changes. This neighborhood has proven to nothing but a cash cow from a lot of individuals and organizations. Oh, and a few churches
