Re: “True service vs. monologue service

So true! My #1 pet peeve at restaurants, and I'm hearing it more and more, is "Have you dined with us before?"! It happened to me one time on the first night a restaurant opened!!!

Re: “Of hipsters and hanger steak at Top Flr

I absolutely agree on La Pietra Cucina. Chef Logue's skill and pedigree is underappreciated here. I think what's holding it back is the decor, location...and even the name is too complicated for us simple folk in Atlanta. Simplify it to just "Pietra" or "Cucina" or whatever else, put it in a charming bungalow and you'll have a winner!

Re: “PARKatlanta gets served by chef Paul Luna — a lawsuit, not tapas

Same thing happen to me with the inoperative meter. I called the number and they asked for the meter number and my parking space number. Gave me a confirmation number so if I get a ticket (pretty likely), I can then appeal it with my confirmation number! Of course, I didn't know what to expect so I had to go back into my car, get a pen and get a piece of paper to write down the number. I drove off instead to another restaurant.

Re: “Restaurant Eugene responds to foie gras protests

"Most people agree that factory farming is cruel and the methods needs to change (thus the growing popularity of free range meats)"

People decide they prefer free range meats through education, not protesters shoving beliefs down other peoples' throats. To me, it's more to hurt Mr. Hopkins' pocketbook than changing the minds of his diners.

Re: “Gravy Train: No. 246 is open, Bhavesh Patel takes over at Table 1280

I wonder why No. 246 doesn't take reservations? Who would go in at 8p on a Saturday night and potentially wait over an hour for a table (if they didn't want to get drinks at the bar)?

Re: “What's up at Table 1280

I've always thought they should've built the restaurant on Peachtree Street to attract more non museum going customers. Such a sophisticated design!

Re: “Pushing palates at Sufi's and Stone Bowl House

Great article! My palate has definitely evolved over my life as well. I hated all seafood (except shrimp) and offal (my Asian background). Now I absolutely love them!

Btw you left out the first part of the article about prices. What did your meals end up costing and what were your friends reactions?
