I could not agree more with the post by ShawithG.
The only other quote that I would add to the shamless digs made by the author Scott Henry, that I believe was an insult to those with cancer, was this;
"a state-appointed panel of physicians tasked with choosing which cancer patients could get stoned,"
How dare you say something like this Scott. These patients could care less about the short term euphoria experienced by cannabis use. However, that side effect if you would call it that, helps with the depression and sadness someone faces when dealing with a life threatening disease like cancer.
These cancer sufferers use this natural growing plant to help ease the systems from the toxic chemicals that must be pumped into them. We don’t need you taking pot shots ( no pun intended ) to make your story sound funnier. This is a very serious issue. If this were any other medicine would you be making a joke about it?
If this was a terminally ill person faced with death and being administered morphine by hospice would you be saying;
"a state-appointed panel of physicians tasked with choosing which dying patients could get doped up on morphine” ?
That was a rhetorical question Scott as I believe your answer would be “no”, because of course, under no circumstances would you make such a judgmental, uninformed, ignorant, non-empathetic statement.
So please, I ask you to keep these things in mind when reporting on life threatening medical conditions and potential life saving medicines. These suffering patients already deal with the stigmatism of our unjust laws criminalizing this natural plant that has been used for centuries for its safety and healing properties.
None-the-less, I do thank you for reporting on this issue just please refrain from the stereo typical propaganda that has been spoon fed to us over the years by those with financial interests that do not want this plant legalized.
