Hate to let you down buddy but these numbers are too low. Let me take the long road to explain...Back in 2010, I fell on hard times and ended up living under Windy Hill Bridge by Lockheed on tracks of CSX. Word got around and met up with Cobb Commissioner Woody Thompson. Woody and his wife Betsy quickly came to my aid and the aid of my loyal companion my dog D.J. They quickly signed me up with Sweetwater Ministries and there I met one of their volunteers that had worked his way out of the bridges. This Homeless Advocate brought me food and ensured a ride for doctors, etc. It was only through him that I discovered the horrible truth of our homeless population of Metro Georgia. Your number is probably the number of drifters camped at bridges of Fulton Industrial. Man, I saw the pictures of those camps and heard their stories. We have got to put an end to homeless and the hungry quit all this damn foreign aid. Yep, Fulton Industrial has hundreds among hundreds camped on top of each other along those bridges...
What happened to the hand that was painted on there years ago?
Where else in America could a middle aged widow stop Dobbins Air Force Base from ceasing our homes by implementing Eminent Domain, purchasing 100 year old Red and Water Oak Trees. As Community Activist of Fair Oaks Community, I organized the SAVE THE OAKS OF FAIR OAKS campaign. Action was put into place letting Dobbins know we were not about to sale our Oak Trees. Town Hall Meetings were organized and a large Media turnout. Elected Officials spoke concerns of Eminent Domain and at the end of the day, Dobbins knew they had been declined. U. S. Air Force would not purchase any trees in the Fair Oaks Community. Just a small group of elderly, blue collar workers lead by a middle aged widow carrying the fight to "SAVE THE OAKS OF FAIR OAKS"....These 100 year old Red and Water Oaks still stand tall and majestic in Fair Oaks. Yes, only in America....
