High-priced appetizers, sides, and small dishes are a huge pet-peeve of mine as well. Almost every place I've been too lately is guilty of this, too. Charging $3-$6 for chips and salsa (come on, really, that should be free or cheap at any self-respecting mexican restaurant), the $9 hummus plate, chicken fingers for $8 or $9... All these small appetizer sized dishes, especially the ones where the cost to the restaurant is approximately pennies, should not cost as much as a lunch or anywhere near an entree.
Hahaha, I read this the other day in the physical CL... and came here just because I knew there were going to be a ton of people raging about Peter Conlon's comment.
C'mon man, I've seen your Ale Yeah! cube driving on Langford parkway. I know you're down here. Open up! East point!
You know, maybe this is ignorant... but I've taken the chinatown bus many times, and I've always done it with the assumption that they skirted whatever regulations there could possibly be. It's a cheap ride, I just take the risk as a part of the discount. I'd rather have that than have to pay like $100 for a fully compliant Greyhound ride that will stop like 40 times on the way.
Wow, five male prostitutes to every one female... That's a shocking statistic!
