My guess is that the CL editorial board is made up of single people who grew up in the suburbs, hate themselves for it, and think they'll never have a family. People into creative loafing probably don't even realize that most jobs are in the suburbs and the more they tax drivers trying to get into the city, the more likely the city jobs will move to the suburbs (or other metro areas). Just go ahead and try forcing people onto transit who need to juggle work, shopping, & soccer practice. Then expect them to pay the bill when the rail can only servce 3% of the population, costs more than estimated, gets lower ridership, and ends up taking generations to pay off.
