Great story. And I think you're right on the money about all the spots mentioned in the article. But Mary's hasn't had karaoke on Saturday nights since May 2010, despite what their website might claim.
When my friend and I attempted to park there Saturday afternoon, the booters instructed us not to park there or face a boot and fines if we did.
It's also reported in East Atlanta Patch that Deljou asked all the surrounding business owners if they wanted to lease the spaces before he leased it to this alleged mystery woman.
The Patch reported that the business owners declined Deljou's lease offer because of "ample" street parking.
If you've ever parked in East Atlanta, you know that there ain't nothing ample about the street parking.
My take: I think Deljou is behind the booting. I don't think he's leased the lot to anyone. And I think he's trying to extort money out of the apparently nonchalant and greedy business owners.
