Thank you for capturing the essence of Cleta Winslow's time as council person. Basic things that should have been done to boost the area as the start of the housing crisis hit never crossed her mind. Relatively simple things such as rezoning to halt the conversion of single family homes into duplexes were eventually done thanks to constituents who stepped up and did the research needed to stop fraud and halt the slipping of the district into an abandoned waste land. I wonder who the people are that go on her bus tours and what they think when they see the condition of neighborhoods such as West End that were once beautiful and thriving communities.
Knowing now that she is an alcoholic helps explain lack of action on many issues and while i hope she gets the help she needs, she does not belong on the city council.
Sadly she is entrenched in the district and not only do few of her constituents read CL but i have not received any campaign information from Torrey. All i can do is hope he had been active in neighborhoods that are not her own.
Re: West End and our list serv
Good going West End. Let's demonstrate to the rest of the city that the neighborhood doesn't have greater issues to contend with other than being picky and petty.
