I have a fresh story illustrating the poor UI on these meters. This morning, I parked near one of these kiosks and swiped my credit card. I put $4.25 on the card for a little over hours of parking. At the end of the transaction, I pressed the green button and it did not print a receipt, nor did it give me the option to print the receipt after pressing the green button. I didn't want to pay another $4 just to get a receipt, so I just walked away hoping it was ok. When I got back to my car 1:50 later, a ticket had just been written and the agent (who was still there) said that the meter didn't show the spot as paid. Argh! It's in their best interest to have failed transactions, since they make more money on them!
