Thank you Frank Bragan for explaining the nature of Creative Loafing to us "non-journalists". You are obviously very cultured and full of diverse insights. And if you are an animal rescuer and you say this picture and story is not offensive, then it must be so. Wiki "sardonic"
What a sick piece of trash rag masquerading as journalism. Creative Loafing has no place in this city .
I see Creative Loafing still hasn't updated their story with the current facts, or bothered to print a retraction regarding the unfounded allegations they published. Typical poor journalism.
There is a difference between reporting an unverified news story and the deliberate slander of a business and indeed a neighborhood as a whole. I'm curious to see if Creative Loafing issues retraction or at least a verified update without the hyperbole and innuendo..
The author of this story needs to return to (attend?) journalism classes. Hearsay, innuendo, and only one verified quote from someone who was actually working that night. To attempt to tie the muggings nearby to Blake's is ludicrous. "Bad things are going down at the corner of 10th and Piedmont" .. seriously?
I believe if I were one of Brigette Walker's neighbors, who had played by the rules, saved my money, lived within my means, and always payed my mortgage on time, I would be more than a little offended by this "feel good" story.
