I would not personally characterize George's views based upon direct informed experience as counter-productive. If anything I would take it as constructive criticism. I am all for the principles of citizen activism that was apparent at the genesis of occupy. But he has a point. If you cannot pair down your objectives to what is measurably successful, then you are spreading yourselves too thin.
I think the question that needs to be asked is who the hell was the tattoo artist? Whoever that was needs to be prosecuted more so than the ignorant mother. They should have been aware of the laws that apply to their industry.
