I remember my Grandmother started taking my brother and myself to The Colonnade in 1967. She always wore white gloves to lunch and she was the epitome of Southern Old School in dress, manners and her cooking. The chicken was always excellent, as well as the hot fudge cake and sweet tea. Southern food is best when its done in a balanced way, not overdone with spices. Its always a treat to go to the Colonnade.
