like you say, it's not just the food, but the vibe and energy. decatur square is a place that comes together in fun ways. i remember last winter many stores opened their doors and served appetizers and wine gratis while you shopped on thursdays, and then the experience became so much more than shopping, but just chilling, bivouacing with a drink and some good bites and chatting with store owners and other patrons.
corny as it is almost sounds, you can feel the love in decatur. you can tell people have invested their hearts in the place. that square is one of the biggest reasons i call the area home
Interesting! Would love to see more tests to see how this plays out, but I have to protest the chemistry which is being slung around for dramatic effect - around 3:00 for example, the correlation between TBHQ (tert-butylhydroquinone) and "butane" (and from there, correlated with cigarette lighter fluid) is over-exaggerated. It would exactly be like saying "Bob is caucasian, you know, just like [insert any European mass-genocide committing ruler]". Countless compounds in nature and in our body have "butane" chains; beyond the name, almost all other comparison breaks down.
