"You seem to have some strong opinions how Peachtree Pines should be run. Just out of curiosity - how much money or volunteer hours have you provided Peachtree Pines?."
@Mark, lol, expecting them to provide basic social services is a strong opinion? And yes, I donate to the people down there regularly, but not to the shelter itself.
Meat is murder! The hipster neo-liberals driving their smart car or biking in green fashion to perpetuate the murder of innocent animals.
God save our planet!
"Imagine the tech start-up scene with social justice and civic betterment at it's core instead of money and profit."
I understand civic betterment = provide jobs and opportunity
But what exactly is "social justice" ?
How to you help anyone if your start up doesn't make a profit?
If she is smart she won't put her eggs in Michelle or Arne's basket.....
Its about the property rights of the owner of the building, if the city wants to build a shelter and give em free water, I would not argue. I drive past almost daily, the occupants hang out in the streets and trash everything around it, is that anyway to be grateful for the crash pad? The Salvation Army down ponce has a beautiful shelter, you don't see loitering, litter, etc... they seem to get along with the neighbors. None of that is true at PP. Where is PP's job training, drug counseling, and psychiatric services? The services essential to move these people up in life are not there, so the shelter is a waste.
I use Uber (black car) several times a week and always have great service, clean air conditioned cars, pleasant drivers, etc,,,, love it, will never get in an Atlanta cab again.
I will say the UberX and Lyft scare me, you just fill up the hooptie and carry people around town? I do see an argument there.
The Uber Black Cars are licensed limos with appropriate insurance and drivers licenses.
History folks, Chamberlin said the same of Germany.....
We can see how its creeping, no intervention in Syria, then leave Iraq completely, and surprise here comes ISIS... letting them run unchecked simply isn't an option.
Did you see one of the Americans who joined them was a Delta employee?? How scary is that?
