He might as well take the $8k, leave out money-sucking lawyers, and endure the construction for a couple months. On the bright side, direct access to the Beltline will probably increase the value of his property overtime.
Also, this might be annoying for the tenant, but Gitman could always shave $100 off rent for the month they are doing heavy construction (with the extra $8k, it shouldn't be a huge burden).
@Voxpopuli - Technically not the City of Atlanta (whatever, I consider anything ITP to be "Atlanta"), but the City of Decatur is definitely the most walkable/bikeable destination in the metro area with excellent access to public transportation.
