Reed doesn't care about the common people/ TTLG/ etc. SOURCES, where are you getting your information about the supposed corruption you've been railing about in this thread and many others? As far as not agreeing with yourself, if posting multiple posts arguing the same position isn't sock puppetry I'm not sure what is. Where did I say that everyone who disagrees with Reed is the same person? You were caught in the act by Thomas, nice deflection there with all the supposed aspirations about me and who I am.
Obviously not everybody is going to agree with my opinion about Reed. But hijacking every thread to talk about Reed and the stadium is obsessive and idiotic. And cmon, do you really expect us to believe that you aren't on here daily? You have multiple posts in the last six hours.
Yes moron. If CL made it so I could ignore your post it would be an infringement on freedom of speech because CL is government and you have a right to post here.
Also, while you may be telling the truth, what sources do you have? Why do you post under ten different accounts? Are you trying to present some sort of false consensus that doesn't actually exist? I neither love nor hate Kasim. I believe he is like all politicians: He has his pros and his cons. Pros: He has been great for development in the city, the financials of the city, the beltline, etc. Cons: He is part of the machine. If you stopped demonizing people you might get more people to listen.
Thomas, can you please only allow comments from verified accounts? It would save a lot of time skipping over idiotic and obsessive posts of Through the looking glass/CLATL Revisionist Thoughts/ The Board/ $ad/ etc. Also maybe add an ignore poster feature?
BB- The long term trends here in Atlanta and nationally are that people are giving up the white flight based paradigm of old and moving back in town. Sorry to burst your Suburban wet dream. Also, if you hate Atlanta so much, why do you post on a site that mostly represents people that love Atlanta? Go post on the Johns Creek/Forsyth County pages. Oh wait, have they figured out the internets yet?
Totally against this but will they still pay Atlanta taxes and fees because the new stadium has an "Atlanta" address?
If so, this may be a net win for Atlanta because we keep revenue while Cobb County shoulders the costs of the Braves.
Cityzen, now you've outed yourself as clueless. Mr. Blank supported Felicia Moore and did not donate to H. Lamar Willis. Mr. Blank did donate to Aaron Watson but only at the $500 level, certainly not enough to influence or buy an election. If these people are as awesome as you guys claim they are, and I think they are all good people, they will do what's right for the city even if that means working with a Mayor that was against them in the election.
"Falcons owner Arthur Blank chipped in $500 to help out Councilmembers Archibong, Wan, Shook, Moore, Martin, Bottoms, Sheperd, Bond, and Watson. Worth noting: Shook, Moore, and Wan voted against allowing the use of the city's hotel and motel tax to help fund the Falcons stadium."
Erica, I actually agree with most of what you said. The Mayor should work with city hall. But don't you think he did that in his first term? Do you have a problem with the Mayor trying to influence who he was working with? What would you do if you were Mayor?
Kasim Reed won 84% of the vote. I don't think that quantifies as a bad night. When has he used "brute" force? I can only guess you're referring to his completely legal financial backing of candidates.
I have a connection with a candidate or on an issue? What is that connection because I'm not aware of it? www.linkedin.com/pub/jacob-kaplan/53/71b/4…
Oh, that's right. You're full of shit.
As far as Ms. Foote goes, is it wrong to like the people you work for? Are they holding some sort of gun to her head to come comment on CL? If not, not really sure how where she works is relevant to what she said. Try attacking the argument with all the vigor you direct to supposedly shady conspiracies in Atl and you guys might get somewhere.
