Re: “First Slice 6/13/13: Rapper J. Cole throws surprise $1 show at the Loft

Ira - I looked it up and decided to go with "chitlins." Yeah, according to Urban Dictionary "chilluns" is correct, but growing up we always accented the "T" and "L." Maybe it's a Georgia thing. Maybe we just said it wrong. IDK, but given its a slang term anyways I stand by the choice.

Re: “The Answers Issue

MrMateo -- Right you are. I've updated it to say "after" his trial instead of "during." Thanks for the catch.

Re: “Collier Heights named historic district by City Council

Ira - I imagine the roads you're referring to are the former site of the Bowen Homes housing projects:

Re: “Two more arrested in July 2012 Grant Park slaying

www - At 17 you're an adult as far as the Georgia legal system is concerned, though in this case it really wouldn't have mattered if he was 13 or 64. Under SB 440, pretty much any juvenile that commits one of the 'seven deadly sins' crimes is tried as an adult regardless of age (though, I think there may be a cut-off for kids younger than 13. I honestly can't remember off the top of my head.). They also face a minimum of 10 years in prison thanks to a sister bill, SB 441. I wrote something about this for another case around the same time all of this happened last year:

Speaking of which, I should follow up on that Cabbagetown incident ...
