Not to worry about crossing "the gulch" as the plans are in the works for it to become Atlanta's Grand Central Station (or Terminus if you will) right there where Northside meets MLK, so don't think this is all about the stadium. They want you to think that it is but it isn't. The plans are to make this a hub for Marta, high speed rail, streetcars, cabs, buses, etc. They brought this to our NPU-T months ago and we wrongly assumed that they were asking for our "input" until someone said "you aren't asking for our input, you are just telling us what is going to happen". At that point they just shut up so, yes, they were just telling us that this is what is going to happen.
I've been going to Masquerade since the day it opened. What a sad day for the Atlanta music scene. My sympathies to his family. RIP Dean.
I also bought my home in Westview after the market crash and truly love my neighborhood, my neighbors, and the real sense of community I get here. There are challenges as with any neighborhood undergoing regentrification but I couldn't be happier. My experience in buying my home and involvement in the neighborhood inspired me to get my real estate license so that I could help others find affordable homes in neighborhoods that hold the true history of Atlanta. With due diligence, a sense of adventure, and the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get dirty, Atlanta can rise from the ashes once again.
