Hey, kiteless, here's an idea: why don't you buy the building from the Georgia Tech Foundation and do with it what you like?
That building sat there derelict for years and nobody paid a lick of attention to it until the GTF purchased it to expand Tech Square. Then all of a sudden it became everybody's business. Let me ask all of you: have you seen that building lately? Actually been to the site? It's a disaster. I applaud the decision to incorporate it into any plans for that block (I'm picturing what was done with the Hearst Tower on 8th Avenue in Manhattan), but no one has any right to dictate to the owners of the property what they should do with it. And to slap it with landmark status after it was purchased? Lowdown and underhanded.
What Tech needs to do is get a decent architect to come up with a creative design for incorporating the building. Not too crazy about the plan shown in the rendering.
