Re: “This is what it's like to ride a bike on the Beltline's Eastside Trail on the weekend (Update)

I love how jammed it is. It shows Atlanta that THIS is the kind of stuff we want. I am a parent of two kids and I am working hard to teach them how to act on the beltline and that bikers pass you on your left and stay to your right. They get confused sometimes, freak out and almost get hit. But this is MY problem and I am training them. My biggest gripe is how the large field at the O4W skate park has been turned into a leash free dog extravaganza. My son and a friend were trying to kick a soccer ball around and they were being attacked by dogs and both of them stepped in poop. There needs to be fenced dog parks on the beltline. Dogs need to be able to run and socialize with other dogs. Keep your dogs on a leash, pick up your dogs poop and I will keep my kids on the right side of the road. :)

Re: “Site plans for Fuqua's proposed retail complex along Beltline now available for your viewing pleasure

Old fashion southern thinking is what is going to keep Atlanta in the dark ages. DONT BUILD PARKING LOTS encouraging people to always drive! In DC they built the Verizon basketball Arena downtown in the most congested site. Built In right on top of a subway station.... problem solved! Nobody on the planet drives to the game, they take the Metro! Stop catering to the old fashion people having to drive from block to block you will force all the young new money makers out of town and you are back to what Atlanta was 20 years ago fools!

Re: “T-SPLOST is a one-shot

I used to sit in traffic for over 3 hours a day driving back and forth from Kennesaw to Atlanta. I sold my house and moved intown. Now my commute is only 30 min. Wait!! 30 min. to go from Cumberland to Freedom parkway... The problem is there isn't any work near where people live!!! We need HUGE apartment complexes that house actual families. Not more of these lofts or 1-2 bedroom apts/condos built for singles. We need REAL housing for families in GOOD school districts. That is why we flee to the suburbs!
