I have some severe food allergies and most of them are strange ones that are kinda rare. I don't eat out very often and when I do I always carry my Pen and pick the safest option. I always ask the server about whats in the food, but I also take in to account that a lot of the time food places don't know every little thing that's in the food. There are lots of different additives nowadays that are called some ridiculous long name that has things like shellfish in it. There's no way a server can know that unless they had the allergies themselves. If you have allergies and the server can't tell you whats in something get a salad with dressing on the side. Its not a big deal.
