This isn't about hip hop journalism. It's about the degrading quality and standards of journalism at large in the era of the 24 hour news cycle. When you report something, you need to get it right. Regardless of the outlet. And when you misfire, you need to own up to it. Period. Even if it's just that "largely" was hyperbole, she needs to state that. It's incumbent upon her to provide something, some evidence that corroborates her claim. Otherwise it is incumbent upon the public at large to view her as a fraud. the press was never meant to be viewed or accepted without question from the public. Regardless of how much of a "giant" she is supposed to be. If Dan Rather can get it, Dream Hampton most certainly can too.
