How is it 'hegemony like a muhfucka' for a critic to criticize an artist? If the SPIN writer had praised the video/song, would anyone say "You have no write to speak on this?" Would Lupe? Doubtful. Also, if it was a 2 Chainz song/video and SPIN criticized it, would we scream 'hegemony?' It seems like we attack the credibility of people that we don't agree with. Maybe seeing a Jewish writer in a rock publication gave you all the tools you needed to make a sweeping generalization and assumptions. That sets a bad precedent: "White folks shouldn't be critical of hip hop artists." Or maybe "Rock pubs shouldn't..." Which is a cop-out. Its 2012, hip hop reviews are no longer limited to The Source or Rap Pages or VIBE
