Not to be the one hijacking a thread here, but imagine the freak out if instead of White Men...this picture was instead replaced with Black Men, with one carrying the AR-15 front and center like the portly gentleman in the red hoodie?
ESPECIALLY wearing a hoodie.
You know how folks get REALLY freaked the effed-out when they see black men in hoodies these days...
Ummm…aren't the state employee health plans already fully qualified under the Affordable Care Act anyways?
The ban doesn't seem to be necessary.
Mr. Wheatley, you are awesome. Thanks.
….the U.S. Department of Justice is supposed "independent" and "impartial" in THEORY, I meant to say…man, I wish clatl had a longer timespan for correcting these postings.
@J to the G, I would agree with you the U.S. Department of Justice is supposed "independent" and "impartial" in practice…but the reality shows us a complete 180 degree opposite situation these days.
During the Bush Administration in December 2006, 7 U.S. attorneys were dismissed in a historically unprecedented fashion.
It was alleged that these U.S. attorneys were fired because they wouldn't play ball inasfar as holding back on investigating Republican politicians...and going balls-to-the-wall on going after Democratic politicians.
And that was just the tip of the iceberg of all the stink that came with George Dubya and his DOJ.
Maybe there was time when the U.S. Department of Justice had some sort of thin veneer of being above the petty politics of the day.
But that Pollyannaish view died on January 20, 2001, I'd say.
The independence of the DOJ probably died earlier, but the politicization of darn near everything in America definitely went into the extreme during the last Presidential administration.
Anyone who thinks otherwise, definitely must be on a "high" that I can never hope to achieve.
Soooooo…any word on when District 1 City Councilwoman Carla Smith's gonna roll up her sleeves and update those Zoning Codes to prevent another 800 Glenwood/Fuqua debacle?
Hey Mr. Wheatley, it would be totally awesome if someone from Creative Loafing made some sort of fourth estate-protecting effort to inquire Carla Smith and Atlanta City Hall about this issue.
'Cuz hey, you CL guys DID recommend her for re-election, am I right?
As long as Obama is in the White House, the people in this fair state will see fit to re-elect Nathan Deal to the Gold Dome.
Also I just don't Obama being capable of going after Deal.
He is simply too afraid of conservatives.
