Waffle House practices legal slavery. I personally worked for the company and they do not allow scheduled breaks, they apply a "get a few minutes if you can" policy. I know several employees who urinated on themselves because they couldnt use the restroom. They take a mandatory meal credit out of your paycheck for every 4 hrs worked, whether you have time to eat or not during your shift. However employees are discouraged from being on the premises 30 mins before or after shifts. They will have people often timed working 17hrs then are penalized if they dnt show up 7hrs after for shift. ( They mainly try this on new people or employees in financial detriment. Most of their Unit, District, & Division mngrs steal and force the employees to pay differences out of their pockets. 2nd shift salespeople often barely make $20/day, and the company pays them $2.13/hr. People have been even known to have babies and go back to work 7-10days later. My father lived with me and passed away, and I was still forced to come to work and leave 2hrs before the service, because I was the lead cook. Awful House does not allow ANY employee to take off holidays w/out threats of termination. Easter, Thanksgiving, are mandatory but still at base pay only. The only paid holidays are Christmas and New Years, yet all others aren't. You got to have thick skin and live day to day to work for this modern day "plantation"!
