Re: “Jeff Clark is Atlanta's worst critic

So Adam Jonas - You apparently don't like some people with a few years under their feet. You may possibly mock your own racial background...who knows. Frankly, based on your words and obvious posing, you are a wall flower and the proverbial "jumping on someone else's train" kind-of guy. Adam: True maturity of a person (you in this case) is based on the ability to have empathy for others...that includes entertaining their POV (it's a type of creativity that demonstrates that you can see others for who they are in spite of their obvious foibles). Best of luck to you - may you see and say things more clearly!

Re: “Downtown task force includes heavy hitters

Good points kiteless - In addition to a desirable urban environment where the physical surroundings are interesting and filled with points of destination, it will be interesting to witness a study or politics that will have the balls to delve into cultural issues. Its all about peoples perception about the brand of Atlanta. For instance, groups of people gathering in ways that suggest intimidation, such as gangs or even more subtle, "its us against you" & "you are not wanted". Peoples reactions to environmental threats, whether actual or perceived, is the reality. In order for an urban area to thrive there must be a perceptively safe environment. People will not venture into areas where threats can be perceived, on ANY level. That includes all types of crimes, harassment potential, distasteful anti-social behaviors, and vagrancy. Atlanta and Downtown needs to pull its' pants up and grow up - move on and lean forward with an all inclusive sensibility! The Museums and points of destination are a massive step in the right direction. The street cars should have been routed to serve areas that are within close proximity to those functions before being routed through areas where abandonment & blight is pervasive.
