Re: “Feast your eyes on proposed makeovers for Midtown's MARTA stations

hmm i think these look beautiful butttt i feel like the best use of space is to really limit the amount of square footage dedicated to MARTA proper--less of a cement footprint-- instead of just a pocket park, cant there be more park and trees? i love the idea of shipping container pop up shops. Inexpensive to achieve the look and a good design element that works for such a transition/passing through space.

Re: “Rail funding redux?

lets legalize marijuanna in Georgia-tax it 25% and have the majority of that revenue go directly into the beltline/public transit expansion.

Re: “Plan begins to turn Midtown's boring MARTA stations into inviting transit stops

I could not agree more with kiteless....true enough that any kind of facelift will do considering the depressing concrete bunker feel of marta today but nonetheless if we are planning on "planning" for the future, this type of sprawled out surface look is a complete waste. I cross the long field in front of lindbergh station every now and then and think "im sure these trees lining this spot looked nice in plan view but I wish there was more shade and trees. I also wish the train ran more frequently. I would be more apt to use it if it didnt mean sitting a solid 30 for the next one to show. I beg planners and designers to use more trees and less cement for the health of all Atlantans but more importantly than the way it looks is the way it functions. I wish every day that I could move fluidly within this city without a car but you really truly cant. That actually seems like the more important question to ask these designers that are flexing their time and energy. right?
