Dropping OUT of SCAD was the best thing EVER for my creativity. And honestly...what kind of an art school follows the rigidity of a Rubric? SCAD was an expensive lesson in artistic frustration and nauseous faculty high ground. Place felt like a Bob Ross puppy mill. Profs teaching lessons they hadn't reviewed or totally bought into. Bourgeois attitudes from Chairs and upper-level administration types just added to the inner voice telling me I had made a BIG, BIG mistake in coming here. Paula Wallace wants her cake - NOW. I almost wished I had gone to a local community college and saved the money, hassle and my inner need to be creative. SCAD drove that spike deep into my art.
