Interesting how the person reviewing emails is not letting my comment through. This editorial board (rodney Carmicheal and the head editor) have been givien many opportunities to do the right thing and address the vast racial discrepancies in the city of Atlanta and Fulton county government. They have dropped the ball each time. This papers readership is made up of mostly people from Atlanta and should pay close attention to the issues of this city. If 83% of your emploees are one racial make up and your population is 40 something percent the other as in Fulton county then there is a big issue there (or news story). Here is the link to the AJC article on the racial disparity in the city of Altanta and Fulton county government. http://www.myajc.com/news/news/local-govt-… .
All I will say as this editorial board (rodney carmichael and the senior editor) have been given many chances to do the right thing with regard to writing about equal representation in our city and county government and has dropped the ball. I live in Atlanta so I care about those areas allot more than I do others, including Norcross. We need to ask this paper to do the right thing and represent the best interest of this city which is to have a diverse work force. This papers readership is almost all city of Atlanta and Fulton county residence. This is a BIG story. People cant get jobs in Fulton county government because of their race.
Here is the link to the AJC article about how 83% of the fulton county work force is black but the popilation is 40 somthing percent.
Why dont you balance your stories with news of why there is no diversity in Atlanta or Fulton government. HMMM becuse it is about white guilt not what is right. It is wrong to discriminate no matter if you are white or black, however it is more acceptable to discriminate on a white person. As seen by this paper time in and time out we will not see a balanced story ever (kind of like Fox news fair and balanced).
